COURSEWORK ASSESSMENT

 

Two Practical reports (one peer assessed, the other peer and tutor assessed):

REPORT 1: Lymphocyte proliferation (laboratory classes in weeks 6 and 7)

DATE: Before noon 27th November, 2001

WEIGHTING: 10% of overall coursework mark (Practical Group B only - marked by Dr Cunningham)

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

MARKING: Students will be provided with a marking scheme to enable them to make their own self assessment before handing the report in (see 7.2).

REPORT 2: Single radial diffusion (laboratory classes in weeks 9 and 10)

DATE: Before noon on 11th December, 2001 (Practical Group A only - marked by Professor Boygo)

WEIGHTING: To be arranged (Max 10% of overall coursework mark)

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

MARKING: Students will be provided with a marking scheme to enable them to make their own self assessment before handing the report in (see 7.2).

PLEASE NOTE: Only ONE of the practical reports will be marked by a tutor. BOTH will be SELF ASSESSED.

Students will be provided with a marking scheme (see 7.2), an assessment attachment form for both practicals. Common mistakes will be discussed in-class. Students will be expected to write up 2 reports, one of the above practicals will be self / peer assessed. The other will be (a) self assessed and (b) tutor assessed. Self assessment is a useful skill, and will be rewarded. If your 'self assessment' is within 5% of the tutors mark, then an EXTRA 5% will be awarded for critical evaluation and self assessment skills!
